Before Highly Zen, I was writing about cannabis & wellness for an online cannabis growing school located in Denver. During that time, I had come up with this idea to experiment with combining marijuana and meditation. What a snazzy idea, right? I’ve failed miserably with getting into meditation over the past couple years, I truly want to get into the habit of meditating and what better way to try to achieve this than by scientific experimentation with ganja? so I thought what the hell, why not.
Here’s the thing: there’s soooooo many different kinds of meditation. Yoga itself has multiple types of meditation. The amount of various forms of meditation pretty much turned the idea into a ‘series’ idea. For being a writer for someone else’s website, the idea was just a bit big and ambitious for that specific platform.
Fast forward to now and it’s the perfect opportunity! there’s just so many, I decided to stick with the yoga meditations. There’s one or two I left out due to needing a professional, but I’m still leaving them open as options. To try to keep some organization to my aspiration of meditation, I’ll be going by this yoga meditation timeline:
1. Yoga Nidra
2. Third Eye Meditation
3. Chakra Meditation
4. Gazing Meditation
5. Sound Meditation
From what I’m aware of, yoga nidra isn’t actually on the typical yoga meditations list, but its one of my favorite ways to practice yoga so I went ahead and added it to the list. I’ll be doing 5-7 days for each one and at the end I’ll write about it on here. At the end, I’ll have a day or two WITHOUT smoking just to see the differences! Tomorrow I’ll be posting about yoga nidra so keep a look out. 🙂
